Mountains, Anthills, and Storm Drains

As many in the Midwest are aware, and especially in the MKE area, we are now officially in monsoon season.  Luckily the collective was placed two blocks down from the less fortunate former Acapulco Lounge on 6th & National which collapsed during this weekend's storm...

6th&National

Spared of the drowning tragedy, Fridays WWAC opening was a great success!

For those not fortunate enough to have been there, here's the scoop...

WWAC is pleased host "Mountains and Anthills" at 835 W. National Ave.

The opening is Friday June 6th from 6-11 and
Saturday June 7th from noon to 5. The show will be open until July 11th
with a closing performance by See The People.

"Mountains and Ant Hills" is based loosely in the idea of landscape and
perception of both the miniature and the gigantic. Canyons become puddles
whereas ants are unsquashable. Simple conversations will be amplified and
words form the foundations of houses. Come see this collection of
installations, photography, sculpture, painting, and drawing where the
far-away becomes near by members Summer Said, Allyson Lassiter, Emily
Belknap, Marcus Wichmann, Julia Schilling and visiting artist Kat Nelson.

This Ole' Hammer...

The steam drill was on the right han' side,

John Henry was on the left,

Says before I let this steam drill beat me down,

I'll hammah myself to death,

I'll hammah myself to death.
